What does a town this narrow do to plumbing?
It removes the idea of an inland property entirely. Hillsboro Beach occupies the south end of the barrier island locally known as Deerfield Beach Island, and only 0.37 of its 1.45 square miles is land: the rest is water. The town is essentially a 3.2 mile strip along State Road A1A with the Atlantic on one side and the Intracoastal on the other.
So salt is not a condition affecting a few streets here, it is the condition of every property. Because there is no inland here. The town is a narrow strip with the Atlantic on one side and the Intracoastal on the other, so salt attacks the outside of the pipe while water works on the inside, and the age of the building predicts a pinhole poorly.
Water is coming through my ceiling. Is it my pipe?
In a multi-unit building, usually not. Water travels down, so the source is commonly the unit above or a shared riser, which makes it the association’s line. Establishing which before anything is opened protects you from paying for it.
