Why does one street change who handles the sewer here?
Because the town’s wastewater arrangement genuinely splits at Pine Avenue. Everything north of it is serviced by the City of Pompano Beach. In the southern half the Town of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea maintains the collection system itself, while Pompano still maintains the lift stations and transports the wastewater by force main to the County for treatment.
So a single 0.88 square mile town has three organizations involved in moving its sewage, and which of them matters to you depends on a street. That is worth knowing before a problem rather than during one, because the first call is not the same at both ends of town.
